Congratulations
on your upcoming wedding or vow renewal! Planning a wedding is such an
exciting time in your life. As a theologian and ordained minister, I offer
religious and non-religious (civil) ceremonies as well as other ministerial
services. I have had the honor to work with hundreds of couples, helping them
create unique, intimate, and meaningful ceremonies that reflect their
traditions, hopes, and dreams.
I believe that the person you choose to officiate at your marriage ceremony should be someone you trust and someone with whom you "click." There is an intimacy that comes with sharing such a personal time with a couple, and I value and honor that opportunity. If I am the right person, we will know. And if I am not, then I have the names of other officiants in the area and will be happy to provide them.
So often we get caught up with the decorations, reception, flowers and dress that we tend to forget what the day is really all about. And while those other things are very important, (and a lot of fun!) the marriage ceremony is what matters most! The ceremony represents a sacred bond between two persons, their families, the larger community; and, if they are religious, then also with God, a greater power, however defined by them. The couples who choose to work with me tend to be couples who want to focus on what is most important—the covenant and sacred bond between them.
I help couples find the right words—the ones that most eloquently express your beliefs and values. You can write your own vows or choose from a variety of selections that can be tailored to your own tastes. Together we will develop a personalized ceremony that exceeds your most romantic dreams...on the beach, in a chapel, a city park, a museum, Old Christ Church, a country club, or in a backyard garden...any place is made perfect when you have a special and unique ceremony.
